WEDDING TRADITIONS IN UZBEKISTAN

Wedding ceremony something special in Uzbekistan. While having common features, this ceremony still has its specific aspects in various regions and I would like to describe wedding traditions in Tashkent.

          When one’s son comes to suitable age for marriage, parents search suitable groom for their son. It’s called arranged marriage. Close relatives, neighbors, friends are involved in this process. If there is suitable girl, aunts by mother or father come to the girl’s house under some excuse, in order to look at her. After this neighbors and friends gather information on the family of chosen girl. In case of positive references, matchmakers are sent. Matchmakers play important role, because they designate day of the wedding

           Wedding takes three days. First day, Groom goes to bride’s house and there Imam from mosque reads Hutbai Nikoh (Prayer on Nuptials).  Also groom’s family sends gifts to bride’s house, such as rice about 50 kg, carrot, oil, big male sheep and so on. This things as a help for serving palov in the next day. This day also happens Sabzi tugrar-especially male neighbors gather in groom’s house and peel carrot for Palov. In fact, Palov is cooked mainly with carrot, lamb and rice.

           Second day, in early morning is served Palov and first guests be prayers. They come after Fajr pray. Palov is made in large bell-mouthed pan, around 400 kg, because many guests come, groom with his friends, as well. Afternoon groom arrives with company of his friends to bride’s house and takes brings bride to his house and there happens wedding party.

          Third day, in the morning mainly female neighbors and relatives of groom get together for Kelin Salom. Bride greets all of them. During greeting one woman sings special song.

          To sum up with, events that mentioned above are very joyful and favourable occasion for the couple, in order to begin their life according to Uzbek tradition.

 

A BAD DAY

 When  I was 10 or 11 , one of the summer days, I and my brothers were home.My parents went to work . I have lokked after  my  brothers.We watched a  cartoon on TV,after finish the cartoon  we were boring.  My brother said me :  “Brother we so boring and we would like game”. I said it`s good idea . We moved next room .And we played simple, but very interesting   we  own game. I won that game . I stood up and I ran around in room and I said: “I won”.  I was very happy . While I was running , I kicked th second  door in  room. And suddenly ,we  heard broke of something  voices.We stood up and ran that room. We saw that a mirror was broken   which the present of our parents wedding. I was shocked and worried about that. My brothers were looking and wondering me.

              Really I was so worrying that.I sat in a chair about few minut.Then stood up  up and I checked the door.The door  doesn`t  locked .I was wondering,because the door always locked and a mirror was behind it. A mirror higher about 2 metres.So the door had open before broke a mirror. I picked one piece up too quickly of mirror brokes, because afternoon was nearing.

            We had quietly lunch .My parents wonder for us ,but they didn`t talk.After that My  father,brothers and I  watched TV ,while my mother  was  going to next room which  mirror had broken .I was worrying .Suddenly , my mother loudly called me and asked:  “Where is a mirror?” . I was quiet and didn`t speech .She asked again and finally I told her : “I had broken it”. What ? “Broken” oh my GOD : said my mother. She was so angry and shouted me ,but didn`t touch .She was saying me : “It was our wedding`s present ,do you know that ,stupid boy? My father heard noisy and he came into room.My father told her: “Stop , don`t shout boy” and my mother stopped .I was crying and got out.My father came near me and said: “Don`t  crying and and worrying my son,I know ,you did suddenness that,we would buy new one”.I have never forgot that day for long times. If I look a mirror, I`ll remember that. Now, If  my mother and I remember that happens, we`ll laugh. 

EARHTQUAKE IS ONE OF THE NATURAL DISASTERS

There many kind of Natural disasters, for instance a volcanic eruption, a tsunami, a hurricane, an earthquake, pollution and so on. Obviously, They all are ruins people's life. However, nowdays  we can see that some people aren't using from nature friendly and owing to this these days natural disasters happening often. Among these disasters an earthquake is more dangerous and harmful disaster.

Now I want to talk about an earthquake. An earhtquake itself divides to many types, for example tectonic, volcanic, collapse and explosion earthquakes. An earthquake makes waves through  earth. In simple word an earthquake is sudden shifting of the earth. When shifting occurs, it gives vibration. Earthquakes can be one of the most deadly and destructive forces to hit a region. They can also be so small that they are not even felt and cause no damage. As I mentioned above an earthquake is more dangerous and harmful disaster. This means that, some other disaster such as a hurricane or tsunami our scientists and forecasters can guess and warn other people. However, an earthquake is disaster anyone can notice or expect it.

Scientists have dreamed of being able to one day accurately prediction earthquake. One of the earliest ways of prediction was watching animals. People knew that just before an earthquake, animals appear nervous and restless, almost as if they could sense the coming catastrope. Scientists can make approximate predictions of the future earthquakes, but may be off a few years. To make more accurate preditions, scientists are studying changes in the earth in order to able get signal about an approaching earthquake.

To sum up with, first of all we should find one language with Mother Nature. This means that, don't gather rubbishes on it, but keep it clean. As in some countries have special weekly days, which on these days will not be given any plastic bags in shops

REPORT: CHIMGAN SKIING COMPLEX

Introduction.
I`m writing this report to recommending a stay in Chimgan skiing complex for your group. When you are in Tashkent, bafore the sunrise, in the East , against the background of the blue sky you can see a light blue silhouette. On clear winter days, in the same direction you can see a snow white wall with blue shadows. This wall, surrounding Tashkent from the East is the Western Tian-Shan Mountains.There are two existing roads from Tashkent to Chimgan: one is lies along the Valley of the Galavasoy River and the second one passes ocer the Chirchik River.
Background.
The climate conditions of the Chimgan tract are so wonderful that at the end of the 19th century the Governor general ( during Russian Tsansist times) built a house for himself in this area. Following his example, the elite began to construct summer houses and cottages and later sanatouriums and resorts.

Attractions.  

The tourists skiing complex Chimgan is located 85 km away from Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan.In the spurs of Chatkal Range on the height of 1600m. The main peak of the area- Big Chimgan (3309m) look likes the point of a giant star. Chimgan is a " green" mountain a wonderful place for skiing,travel of just relaxtion. The mountain skiing season here is not long time, it starts in December and last until mid-March. arope and several ski tows located on the different slopes of Chimgan. There are also famous ancient tea houses and giant old plane trees.. Youth competition in rock climbing are held in this area. And also you can see the dam of the charvak water reservoir where you'll have a marvelous view of this highland water reservoir. There are also runs for beginners suppleed with ski tows around the entire resort.

Practical information.
In Chimgan ,there are several hotel complexes and cottages at your services,as well as a rental station with skis, snowboard and sleds. During the winter season,the residents of Tashkent and travelers from other region of Uzbekistan and foreign contries come to chimgan for skiing, snowboarding and sledding. Near the hotel complex " Chimgan" there is a restaurant, bar, several dance clubs, billiard club,tennis courts and sauna. Uzbek restaurants and cafes, shashlik cafes and shops are avoilable not far from the slopes. You are also invited by the local to ride horses and visit Uzbek homes in the villages of Uzbekistan.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY

          Language students often think they have a memory problem. They worry because they can't remember vocabulary. They think something is wrong with their brain. In fact, the problem is not their brain or their memory. The problem is the way they study.
         If you want to improve your memory, it's important to understand how it works. There are two kinds of memory: short-term and long - term. All information goes into your short-term memory first. But it can stay there for just a few minutes. In order to remember something for more than a few minutes, it must move into your long-term memory.
         Only some things move into your long-term memory. Which things? This is an improtant  question for a student. In fact, your long-term memory keeps things that are interesting or important to you. That's why you remember big events in your life or your favourite sports events. Your long-term memory keeps other things,too. It holds onto things that you have thought about and worked with so If you want to remember words, you have to work witth them in some way.

          Many students study vocabulary by repeating the words. This may be enough to remember them for a while. But after a day or week, you may  have lost them. The reason for this is very somple. Long-term memory is like a very big library with many, many books. And like a library, it is organized. When you put away a book or a memory you can't just leave it anywhere. If you want to find it again, you have to put it in a certain place.
          Repeating a new word doesn't help you remember it for long, because it doesn't give you any way to find it again. You need to make a place for the word in your long-term memory. There are many ways you can do this. You can write sentences with the word. Or you can make a very short story about it. You can also make a picture in your mind with the word. For example, if the word is height, you can think of the tallest person you know and try to guess his height.
         All of these activities are ways to work with words. They make the meaning of words stronger in your long-term memory. And they give you a way to find a word when you need it.

We were in "Wedding"

In 29 of May , we went wedding sister Salwa  who is the one of the student admission stuffs.It was very good wedding. Firstly, we sat party places and ate malaysian traditional wedding foods and drinks. But ,unfrtunately I couldn`t ate some foods ,because,  they were very spicy. After that,talking each other and about wedding ceremony. After eating we made some pictures with bride and groom.Sister Salwa ,oh sorry I called her Sister Salwa,I like that calling and it is very easy than that call her name. Bride and Groom were very beautiful and wore  wonderful traditional clothes .Especially,my sister wore  very beautiful bride's clothes. We made pictures were more  and more times.Everbody was happy and enjoying ceremony that time. After that, we went museum which is the  called Padi . It was very good museum and also students made many pictures there but it was not interesting for me because  this was my second time that  was  I visited there . Museum including are some painting arts,malaysian rices, maps, ancient times archeological things and some foods and so on.

"LITTLE WOMAN" by Louisa May Alcott

This story had been  at the Civil War and that happens one of the Amarican families life.When  Christmas comes for the four March girls,there is no money for expensive presents and they give away their Christmas breakfast to a poor family. But there are no happier girls in America than Meg, Jo, Beth, and Any. They miss thier father of course, who is away at the Civil War, but they try hard to be good so that he will be proud of his "Little women" when he comes home.
At the  Christmas the four March girls decide that they will all try hard to be good and never to be cross, or lazy, or selfish again. Meg,the oldest, won`t argue and get angry and run wild like a boy. Shy Beth will try hard to be braver and little Amy will think less of herself and more other people.
They don`t always succeed, of course and sometimes there are arguments and secrets and angry tears. but there is also laughter and fun and soon a new friend- Laurie, the rich and lonely boy next door.
Many troubles and difficulties lie in the year ahead - and the girls are growing up.
They are very poor family.Their father had lost most of his money helping a friend. And Father went away the war and they dan`t know anything about him which he is alive or dead.  One day Meg said " Mother says we shouldn`t spend money on presents when our men are fighting a war. " We can`t expect anything from Mother or each other" said Jo, but we only have a dollar each and that won`t help the army much. Let's each buy ourselves what we want and have a little fun. Suddenly, no, no, no we will get something for our mother,let's each get her something and not anything for ourselves, said Beth. " That's  a kind idea and we'll let Mother think we're getting things for ourselves and then surprise her" said Jo. Mrs March arrived home soon after.and she cried "I've got a litter from Father!" . It was a letter to cheer them up and the special message for the girls came at the end: Give them all my love and a kiss. I think of them every day. I know they will be loving children to you and that when I come back, I will be prouder than ever of my little women. After they read message,they feel are very sad .
